Hey yo, wats up witchya? eurthang chillin n shit? you makin that paper? .... cool..... you's got any pets n shit? like, dogs n cats n shit. not no parakeet or hamster bullshit.(if u ain't 9 or 65, thats just weird) cause there's something different bout "hood" dogs n cats as opposed to your "middle to upper class" type canines and felines.... First off, a perplexing observation concerning cat's. they're generally nimble ass, crazy fast, eyes on the back o their head muhfukers. right? always alert for danger n shit. right?... yeah.... well, something fucks em all up, out here in the hood. it's like they lose all they powers n shit. you know when you doin your normal driving, eurday type shit, whenever you see an animal thats been hit by a car, it usually is either a dog, possum, skunk.. etc.. not many cats. you know? well over here, they on the top o the "hit by car" list.... yeah, I know, wtf? I can't figure it out.
I own know, maybe they don't get fed and they have no energy or some shit. further research is necessary. But dogs on the other hand, only the hood dogs, not the outa towners passing through n shit, you can spot them fukers easy, they the ones causing all the traffic n shit. all indecisive, running back n forth n shit. but, the straight, born in the hood, raised in the hood muhfukers, they fukin street smart as hell. They like, know how to cross the road n shit. and not no fukin 2 lane residential, "a turtle could probably make it," road. I's talking a straight 4 lane, 45 mph with rush hr road. and they cross it during busy times.... shhiiit, them mofos even do that, "cross halfway n start walkin the yellow line, while you check 4 cars. then complete the cross" bullshit. There are peoples round here that can't even pull that shit off. ( I have personally witnessed 6 people hit by cars out front, (1 died and muhfukin locs wife been hit twice. she just dust herself off n cry a lil but she was cool.) and only 1 dog hit. and that was the owners fault. bitch ran across and the dog just followed.) I'm sure its a "survival" thing, being that they were probably left to fend for themselves. But it goes to show that, "it is like the Plains o the Serengetti."...."be strong n smart or die." I always attempt to feed the ones I see around, they all usually come back on schedule eurday for bout 2 to 3 weeks then stop. Then, on occasion, I'll see them on the otherside o town, all clicked up with a group o dogs. runnin da streets n shit. (like they joined another gang n shit. it even seems like they act all tough n shit cuz they got some heads, what asses, actin like they don't me n shit. now they better watch they backs n shit. I treated them like family and this is how they repays me? where's the fukin loyalty? whats happening to the youngsters nowadays?....now I gotta call my peoples. got to maintain the reputation, you know? its all you gots round here).... the hood's power is far reaching...... holla atcha later. peace!

- I am a liquor store owner... in the hood. Now when I say "hood", I mean The,"holy mary, mother of god, that is ghetto!" hood..., and just so you know, I aint no rookie in the "liquor slang thang." I've pretty much been raised at one or another my entire life. (could possibly be why a clean cut Korean fellow will start speaking "all hood n shit" outta da blue.) Ive been in most of the ghetto cities, ie. East LA, Baldwin park, El Monte, south central, and even south Phoenix AZ. I have been in a "shoot out." with armed robbers. (no one died.) Been literally "bumrushed." (actual fuckin bums, like 8 of em, ambushed me.. )tell you more on that later. And yet, South "P-tizzy" as i like to call it, is the mufukin undisputed champion... yeah, for real. and don't be coming at me with some bullshit bout this hood n that hood. I's talkin bout this here hood, biatch. (sorry, the "ghetto talk" just comes out. maybe it's a form of tourettes.) anyways, I am not just a "liq store extraordinarre." I do manage a social life between work. but this aint bout me, its bout the liq slangin.

Yoooooooo. I love your blog. I heard about it from a friend who was on Metafilter like everybody else. You are a great writer. I enjoy your perspective and observations on life. You mentioned something about feeling "pressure." I really hope you don't let it get to you because one of the main reasons I think you are so great is that you are writing precisely what you feel and think and you don't care how people will judge it. Don't change that!
when i went to mexico on the compound i stayed on all these mangy ass cats hung around, flea ridden and doped-looking, i used to hug them at nite when i was drunk and feed them too. i have a bleeding heart for animals over people.
oh and re: tazing, i've been tazed before and it does not feel good.
Funny as fuck man, read the whole thing at work. My friend is Chinese, and owns a liquor store in Compton, CA, hes been robbed multiple times and they always think hes korean. lol
Post up some getting robbed, or attempted stories.
